Offshore (Atlantic Ocean), Rhode Island
The Block Island Wind Farm is a proposed 5-turbine, 30 megawatts (MW) offshore wind project located in the coastal waters of Rhode Island. EDR is providing visualization support to assist the project’s permitting and public outreach. This has included the preparation of 28 photo-realistic visual simulations (showing daytime and nighttime conditions), the design of the project’s website, and authoring a Visual Impact Assessment (VIA) report. EDR’s animated video flyover has supported the project’s public outreach efforts and has been featured in documentary films and on national media outlets such as The Weather Channel.
“I have worked closely with EDR on the Block Island Wind Farm project for the last 4 years. As the project’s visual consultants, they prepared a comprehensive Visual Impact Assessment that included viewshed analysis and multiple visual simulations. EDR also supported the project with the production of communication graphics that proved effective in winning support for the project from a wide array of stake holders. The quality and timely delivery of the products produced by EDR consistently met or exceeded our expectations. I recommend them for your project without reservation.”
