EDR congratulates our client Deepwater Wind on completing construction of the Block Island Wind Farm, the first offshore wind energy project built in the United States. The project’s five wind turbines were installed off the southern shoreline of Block Island (Rhode Island) during the summer of 2016. The construction of this project is an important milestone in the ongoing expansion of renewable energy generation, which is an essential component of creating a sustainable economy based on responsible environmental stewardship. EDR prepared a Visual Impact Assessment and prepared visual simulations to support public outreach during the environmental permitting review of the project. We’re inspired to see the promise of those visual simulations made into reality!
