EDR is seeking a versatile, team-oriented Senior Project Manager to join our Planning Practice Area in our Syracuse, NY office. Qualified Planning Project Manager candidates will have a master’s degree in Planning or similar field of study plus 7+ years of practice in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership skills and the ability to coordinate, supervise, and manage the development, implementation, and evaluation of complex planning projects from beginning to completion, including task delegation to appropriate staff.
- QA/QC of delegated work
- Project set up, contracting, establishing budgets, and client billing. Also responsible for leading or assisting with project proposals, client relationship building, networking, conferences, and volunteer positions.
- Tracking of internal and external deliverables against the project plan, and overall project organization.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of applicable experience.
- A master’s degree in planning or similar field of study.
- Knowledge of various planning initiatives such as waterfront revitalization, land use regulations, brownfield revitalization, smart growth comprehensive planning, transportation planning, basic socio-economic analyses, and experienced in a wide variety of public engagement techniques.
- Advanced practical and technical job knowledge, leadership skills, initiative to seek out new assignments, highly effective communicator, critical thinking and problem solving.
- Technical writing, research and analysis, and public presentations.
- Familiarity with Adobe Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) ArcGIS, Microsoft Suite (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Word) is extremely beneficial.
- Knowledge of NYS Department of State related programs is beneficial.
- A valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the US without restrictions.
The anticipated base pay range of $90,000 – $100,000 per year is commensurate with experience. EDR reserves the right to pay outside of the target range based on an individual’s education, credentials, skill level and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity, geographic location, and business needs. EDR also offers a comprehensive benefits package (health insurance, 401[k], paid time off) as part of overall employee compensation.
