The proposed Galloo Island Wind Farm is a unique and compelling project – approximately 30 wind turbines sited on a privately owned island located more than 6 miles offshore in Lake Ontario. EDR recently provided significant support for two public meetings in the Towns of Hounsfield and Henderson in Jefferson County, New York. In addition to welcoming and orienting visitors, EDR’s planning and visualization staff prepared all of the graphic information exhibits for both public meetings. EDR Principals John Hecklau and Patrick Heaton presented visual simulations of the proposed wind turbines to help community members and stakeholders understand the scale, visibility, and potential visual effect of the project.
We look forward to continuing to support the ongoing public outreach and New York State Public Service Commission Article 10 environmental review for this interesting and challenging project.
