EDR’s Planning staff has been working with the Town of DeWitt and City of Syracuse on a coordinated effort to collect public input for the Elevating Erie Ideas Competition, which solicited proposals from around the world in an effort to re-think development patterns and transportation infrastructure along the Erie Boulevard East corridor. The ideas submitted for the competition will help advance implementation efforts for the Town of DeWitt’s Local Waterfront Revitalization Program and the City of Syracuse’s Brownfield Opportunity Area program. Many congratulations are due to the City of Syracuse, the Town of DeWitt, and to Joe Sisko and his team at LOCUS Design, for this ambitious and successful initiative.
If you are interested in innovative, forward-thinking ideas that will transform Erie Boulevard into a more inclusive, attractive, and productive place (and who’s not?!?), we invite you to join us for an Exhibition Opening on May 5th at the Erie Canal Museum in Syracuse. Doors open at 4:30pm, and we guarantee a good show!
Stay tuned for more information about how you can participate in the next phase of this project!
