In 2019, EDR was selected by the Broome County Planning and Economic Development office to lead the planning process for the countywide agricultural and economic development plan, produced with funding assistance from the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets’ Farmland Protection Planning Program. The plan resulted in a comprehensive profile of existing conditions and trends facing the agricultural sector, the methodology and results of two mapping analyses prioritizing lands for protection, a countywide vision for agriculture, and a set of goals and implementation actions.
