EDR’s Environmental Division provides a variety of botanical services including surveys for rare plants and significant natural communities, rare plant population monitoring, habitat assessments, and ecological community mapping. Rare plants surveys are typically conducted to assure compliance with the Endangered Species Act of 1973 (ESA), or in support of environmental permitting requirements pursuant to federal and/or state laws such as the National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA) or the New York State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA). Our staff belong to professional botanical organizations including the New York Flora Association and the Wyoming Native Plant Society, and where required have met state-specific standards for botanical investigations, such as Pennsylvania Wild Plant Management Permits.
