EDR, as a sub to Hazen & Sawyer, completed upgrades included various pumps and electrical upgrades throughout the pump station. Work included MCC, power distribution, controls, and related ancillary systems. The project included power design requirements for the replacement of three (3) existing dry-pit submersible extended shaft pumps with five (5) new dry-pit submersible pumps, 185 horsepower, (17 million gallons per day capacity) installed in the existing wet well.

The electrical system components included 480V, main-tie-main powered switchgear with Con Edison metering, 480V MCC with RVAT pump starters, panelboards for 120V circuits and LED lighting. Plumbing design included new interior potable and non-potable water systems and a refurbishment of the existing bathroom. HVAC design included replacement of the ventilation and heating systems with NFPA 820 compliant systems. New 1,000 kW emergency power generator. The project was developed in REVIT.

Quality was maintained through EDR) and H&S’s QAQC processes. Engineers completed the work, and they were reviewed by QAQC reviewers, and the implemented changes were backchecked. QAQC logs were maintained throughout. Schedule and budget were maintained by having the right number of personnel working on the project to maintain deliverable dates.
