Ross County and Pickaway County, Ohio
The Yellowbud Solar Project is a 274-megawatt solar photovoltaic electric generating facility in Ross County and Pickaway County, Ohio. The Project spans approximately 2,000 acres and connects to the Biers Run to Circleville 138-kv transmission line. The Project is anticipated to positively impact both the local economy and environment by producing significant tax revenue and other economic benefits for the area, and offsetting carbon dioxide emissions by an estimated 364,000 metric tons each year – the equivalent of taking approximately 85,000 cars off the road.
EDR compiled the OPSB Certificate Application for the Project, which was filed in July 2020. EDR also conducted the Visual Resource Assessment, Landscape Design, and Socioeconomic Analysis for the Project. The Project received its Certificate in February 2021, and began construction in August 2021. When Yellowbud commences operations in 2023, it will be the largest operating solar facility in Ohio.
