Kim Phan Successfully Defended her Masters Thesis!

Kim Phan successfully defended her Masters Thesis “Toward a New Erie Boulevard East in Syracuse and Dewitt, New York: Bus Rapid Transit and Urban Forestry in a Time of Climate Challenge” on November 16, 2017.  Kim began graduate school part-time in the fall of 2014 at SUNY-ESF with an interest in making green space and public transportation more accessible to residents throughout the City of Syracuse and Onondaga County.  Her research shows that bus rapid transit, urban forestry (and other green infrastructure elements) are feasible on Erie Boulevard East and has the potential to offer environmental benefits (reduced carbon emissions, improved air quality, and increased stormwater capture), stimulate economic development, and improve the social well-being of residents.

Congratulations, Kim!
