Our client Community Energy Solar recently filed their final Public Involvement Program plan (or PIP) for the Mohawk Solar Project in Montgomery County. This is the first solar project going through the Article 10 permitting process in New York State. The Mohawk Solar Project is anticipated to produced up to 90 megawatts (MW) of clean, renewable electricity, which is enough to power over 20,000 households. EDR is serving as the lead environmental permitting consultant for the Project, including preparation of the PIP and assisting with public outreach. We are currently drafting the Preliminary Scoping Statement (or PSS) for submission to the Department of Public Service and are conducting field studies at the project site including wetlands, threatened and endangered species habitat assessment, and cultural resources surveys.
